A settlement has been reached to resolve False Claims Act allegations against Adventist Health System Sunbelt Healthcare Corporation.
The whistleblowers' share of the settlement will be $376,452.
The allegations arose from a lawsuit, claiming that Adventist Health System Sunbelt Healthcare Corporation gave patients at one of its hospitals portions of single-dose vials of chemotherapy drugs that were left over from administrations to prior patients.
Single-dose vials of chemotherapy drugs can only be administered to one patient to prevent harmful agents that can be passed on to other patients.
As a result of this hospital's improper use of the single-dose vials some patients had to be admitted for treatment.
